Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy Technicians work cooperatively with the front office, treatment staff, and veterinarians to provide safe, accurate and timely delivery of medications to patients. Under the supervision of the Practice Manager and the Technician Supervisor, the Veterinary Pharmacy Technician processes new orders, updates patient information, notifies clients about order status, and maintains inventories. Qualifications include 1+ year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a veterinary setting or successful completion of a recognized pharmacy-technician training program; knowledge of veterinary and pharmacy terminology; weights, measures, and pharmacy calculations; the ability to effectively communicate verbally with coworkers and clients; the ability to stand for extended periods of time, type at least 45 words per minute, lift up to 35 pounds, bend, squat, stoop and reach above and below shoulder level.
