Shanna Seals, DVM

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Shanna Seals received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2009. Following graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine, surgery and critical care at the Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center in in Mandeville, LA. Dr. Seals also practiced at the Audubon Center for Research of Endangered Species (ACRES) in New Orleans, assisting with the sea turtle and dolphin capture, treatment, and relocation program in response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. 

Dr. Seals undertook her dermatology residency at Louisiana State University and achieved diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2015. During her dermatology residency, Dr. Seals published a children’s book, “Boo’s Amazing Rescue,” and visited elementary schools teaching children about the importance of animal conservation. She also completed dermatology research on a study for characterization of IgE-mediated cutaneous immediate and late-phase reactions in non-allergic domestic cats.

In January 2015, Dr. Seals joined the Animal Dermatology referral Clinic in Dallas, TX (now Animal Dermatology Clinic–Dallas).

Fun Facts:

Dr. Seal was happy to return to north Texas and close to her family and friends. When not practicing, she enjoys time with her family, travelling the world and helping others in need.
