Randall C. Thomas, DVM

Dr. Randy Thomas is a 1992 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. He worked as a small animal practitioner for 4 years in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before completing his residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of Florida and achieving Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in 1999.   

Dr. Thomas been in private referral dermatology practice since becoming a board-certified veterinary dermatologist.  In 2005, he and his wife, Dr. Lisa Akucewich settled in South Carolina and founded Southeast Veterinary Dermatology & Ear Clinic in Mt Pleasant.  He has had the privilege to serve the needs of referring veterinarians and patients in the Carolinas since then.   

Dr. Thomas’ professional interests include allergic diseases affecting dogs and cats, diseases of the ear, and autoimmune skin conditions and has contributed chapters to three veterinary texts: Cancer in Dogs and Cats (Morrison WB, editor), Small Animal Dermatology Secrets (Campbell KL, editor), and Current Veterinary Therapy XV (Bonagura J, ed.).

Fun Facts:

In his time off, Dr. Thomas is often found on the sideline of a football field or soccer pitch watching his sons compete in the sports they love.  He also enjoys spending time with family and friends out on the waterways surrounding the Charleston area.
