Dr. Marilyn Lopez Gomez was born and raised in San Diego. A lifelong love for animals and early experience at a local animal hospital sparked her decision to become a veterinarian. She started her academic journey at California State University San Marcos, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Physiology in 2020. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. After years of training and hands-on experience, Dr. Gomez is fortunate to return home and give back to the community that shaped her. Dr. Gomez is especially interested in dermatology and is passionate about helping pets live more comfortable lives–especially those struggling with chronic skin conditions.

Fun Facts:
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gomez enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her two dogs. She also enjoys re-watching episodes of her favorite show Law & Order SVU.
