Jyothi Surendran, DVM

Resident, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Born and raised in India, Dr Jyothi Surendran has always loved animals. She pursued advanced clinical training at the Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine, after earning her veterinary degree with distinguished honors from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, in Kerala, India.

Dr. Surendran worked for more than 10 years as a small animal general practitioner in Pennsylvania and Delaware, during which she developed her passion for dermatology. She decided to pursue her love for dermatology and completed a dermatology internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. Following her internship, Dr. Surendran accepted the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) residency at the Animal Dermatology Clinic – Wayne, in Wayne, New Jersey.

Fun Facts:

In her free time, Dr. Surendran enjoys long distance biking and spending time with her family and her Swiss Mountain dog named Leo. She is also trained in an Indian classical dance form called Bharatnatyam.
