Julia Miller, DVM

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Julia Miller is native of upstate New York and pursued her love of singing at Indiana University in Bloomington as a vocal performance major before her passion for horses pulled her back to veterinary medicine. 

Dr. Miller graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and then completed a large animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia. She worked as a mixed small and large animal general practitioner for several years before returning to Cornell for her dermatology residency in 2017. She achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2019. 

Dr. Miller continued at Cornell as an assistant clinical professor in the section of Dermatology and has lectured and published extensively in the fields of veterinary dermatology and equine medicine. She was recognized the New York State Veterinary Conference Speaker of the Year in 2018 and received the Zoetis Distinguished Teacher Award 2021. 

Dr. Miller has a special interest in the management of chronic otitis externa, and all things related to large animal skin disease (especially horses).

Fun Facts:

Outside of work, Dr. Miller enjoys her lovable bully dogs, riding horses, and singing whenever possible. She also loves providing continuing education to veterinarians and owners because derm is absolutely the best! She is excited to return to the warmer weather of Kentucky and to help keep pets happy and healthy!
