Helen Orbell, BSc BVSc MANZCVS

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Helen Orbell graduated from The University of Queensland with BVSc in 2001 and worked in mixed practices in New Zealand, England and Scotland before joining the companion animal clinic at Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Palmerston North, New Zealand, in 2005. She traveled to the US for a year in 2007 and worked in Community Practice at Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Pullman. After traveling to Australia and working in a small animal practice for 2 years, she returned to New Zealand to work again at Massey University VTH. Her interest in veterinary dermatology grew steadily over the years and led her to a dermatology residency with Animal Dermatology Group. In 2022, Dr. Orbell achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.

Dr. Orbell practices at Animal Dermatology Clinic locations in New Zealand (Massey University, Palmerston North campus) and Australia.

Fun Facts:

Outside of work, Dr. Orbell enjoys making the most of the rural lifestyle and environment with her family including a very active vizsla and three cats. She also enjoys trying to be creative, reading and gardening.
