Cynthia Bauer, DVM MS

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Cynthia Bauer attended the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2005, receiving her DVM degree with honors. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida before she was accepted into the four-year dermatology residency and master’s program at the University of Georgia. Dr. Bauer completed her residency in July 2010 and earned her Master of Science specializing in Veterinary Dermatopathology. She achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in 2011. 

Dr. Bauer authored a research study using only client owned, volunteered pets to help improve the use of skin testing in animals who suffer environmental allergies. Her clinical interests are many, including infectious skin diseases, ear diseases and allergic skin diseases of dogs and cats. 

Dr. Bauer is also the visiting professor of dermatology at St. Matthews University School of Veterinary Medicine since 2012.

Dr. Bauer resides in the Greenville, South Carolina, area where she lives with her husband and three cats Gumbo, Boudreaux, and Rupert.
