Dr. Casey T. Stepnik grew up in southeastern Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her undergraduate studies, then onward to the UW-School of Veterinary Medicine, where her passion for veterinary dermatology began. After completion of her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2004, Dr. Stepnik spent one year working as a general practitioner in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina, followed by three years as an emergency and general practitioner at a large emergency, specialty and general practice clinic in Northern California. During her time as a general practitioner, Dr. Stepnik’s passion for veterinary dermatology intensified, which drove her to pursue advanced training in the field. In 2008, she began her three-year residency in veterinary dermatology at the University of California, Davis. Following completion of her residency, she practiced at a veterinary dermatology clinic in Northern California for one year before making the decision to return to her roots in Wisconsin. In 2012, Dr. Stepnik became the only Board-Certified Veterinary Dermatologist® practicing in southeastern Wisconsin, where she continues to be one of the few dermatology specialists in the region.
In her spare time, Dr. Stepnik enjoys spending time with her husband, fellow veterinarian, Dr. Matthew Stepnik, their three children and two dogs. She also enjoys reading, running and traveling.
