Andrew Simpson, DVM, MS

Dr. Andrew Simpson is a 2009 graduate from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital and VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital, he spent four years working as a general practitioner at various VCA animal hospitals in the greater Chicagoland area. Dr. Simpson finished his residency in veterinary dermatology along with a Master's degree at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in June of 2017. He has authored many papers in the veterinary literature, including research on monitoring urinary tract infections in allergy therapy, novel treatment for pemphigus foliaceus, along with a study on absent eardrums in dogs. Dr. Simpson was co-chair and co-author of the 2023 AAHA Management of Allergic Skin Diseases Guidelines and currently serves on the editorial board for the Veterinary Dermatology journal.

His interests include allergic skin disease, otology, immune-mediated skin disease, and cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease. Dr. Simpson also enjoys lecturing to veterinarians on dermatology locally and across the country.
