Rusty Muse

DVM, Diplomate ACVD

Dr. Rusty Muse received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in 1989. After graduation, he was in private practice in Northern Virginia for 4 years before pursuing specialization in dermatology. Dr. Muse completed his residency at Animal Dermatology Clinic and the University of California-Irvine Department of Dermatology in 1995 and became board certified in 1996.

Dr. Muse is a primary owner of the Animal Dermatology Clinics and an Executive Board member of the Animal Dermatology Clinic Management Group. He receives cases in Tustin and Palm Springs, CA and Maysville, KY.
Dr. Muse is a member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD), the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology, Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association and Cobb County (GA) Veterinary Medical Association.

He has been active as a Diplomate in the ACVD and is currently the Secretary of the Executive Board for the College and will be President of the ACVD in 2012. He has been the past Chair of the Research Funding Committee as well as a member and Chair of the Credentials Committee. Dr. Muse is currently the Publicity Committee Chair for the 7th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology to be held in Vancouver, Canada in 2012.

Dr. Muse is a native of Maysville, KY and graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette before being accepted to veterinary school. His outside interests include tennis, travel and gardening. Current pets include 4 great cats named Sophie, Louis, Karl and a cat that adopted him that is named Rabies Marie!
