Cassie is a 6 1/2 year old German Shepard. She was referred to Animal Dermatology Clinic for crusting on the nasal planum, muzzle, periocular region and paw pads. Her condition started as a dry nasal planum, then it began to crack. Then it became severe soon affecting her paws, muzzle and periocular regions, although she was eating and acting well. One other dog at home was not affected.

Dr. Darin Dell correctly identified her condition, began the course of treatment and eight weeks later Cassie's symptoms have abated and under control.
