Adult, female Boston Terrier, Mercy successfully treated for generalized demodicosis.

Before:

Mercy presented to Animal Dermatology Clinic with hair loss, raised red crusted papules and bacterial infection.

After:

Mercy was diagnosed generalized demodicosis, an overgrowth of Demodex mites within the skin and hair follicles. Although these mites may be present on all dogs, when they are allowed to grow in greater numbers, hair loss, redness and secondary infections may occur.  Newer medications now make this disease much easier to treat successfully with few side effects.
