Simba

Pemphigus foliaceus

Click to Enlarge Images BEFORE: Simba Before
AFTER: Simba After

Before

Simba was a 5 year old Chow Chow that initially presented with a total body pustular eruption with almost complete hair loss and crusting noted. She was diagnosed with pemphigus foliaceus through biopsies of the skin. Simba was a very difficult management case but we were ultimately able to get her into remission with a combination of triamcinolone (a steroid), azathioprine, and Atopica (cyclosporine). She was one of the cases of pemphigus that required major immunesuppression and combination therapy for control.

After

Simba's coat restored and looking great!
