Born in Missouri and now a Californian. Apollo is very smart, full of energy but is gentle with other dogs and children. Kids are immediately attracted to a big, white fluffy dog so it's an opportunity to teach them the proper to pet a dog: ask the owner first, let the dog smell the child and then pet the dog. He sits patiently while they pet him, then it's his turn to smell them. He is clever (but I don't think it's so cute), he has figured out how to open our heavy slide-out trash bin with his nose and then proceeds to pull out all the garbage & eat the "good" stuff! Apollo then slinks away to to quiet area (or outside) and proceeds to eat, which is why I call him my "chow down hound". I find the weirdest things around, not just food.
